| The commune of Roccapiemonte rises near the left bank of the Solofrana stream, at the foot of the Solano mountain, from which you can enjoy an extensive view of the Sarno landscape, Vesuvio and part of the Gulf of Naples.
Its name is made up from the terms “Rocca”, almost certainly referring to the medieval castle located on the Solano mountain, and “Pimonte”, or rather “pie’ di monte”, a village that arose from the foot of the Solano mountain, in the XII century, around a monastery or a little church dedicated to San Quirico.
